New CEO - AMR Action UK

AMR Action UK appoints new Chief Executive Officer, Marcus Green

AMR Action UK is pleased to announce the appointment of Marcus Green as our new Chief Executive Officer. This appointment marks a new phase of development for our charity as we look to further advocate for the needs of patients battling treatment resistant infections across all four nations of the UK.

For 30 years Marcus has worked in the voluntary sector and has consistently put the voice of patients at the heart of national policy making and decision making, and we are excited to work with him on representing the patient voice in antimicrobial resistance and infection.

This appointment arrives at a key time for AMR Action UK, as we look forward to a new chapter of evolving our patient engagement and empowerment programmes, and strengthening our advocacy on behalf of patients across the Westminster and devolved administrations.

Marcus’ areas of focus as he joins the charity will be on driving our long-term strategy development, building new stakeholder connections and securing much-needed funding to further scale up our valuable support of patients struggling with AMR and infection-related issues. The AMR Action UK Board is excited to see Marcus appointed.

Chair of the AMR Action UK Board, Rosemary Howell, said:

“We are delighted to welcome Marcus as our Interim CEO. His experience as CEO, and success as a campaign leader in a similar patient centred medical charity, which supported and advocated for patients and their families, make him an ideal fit for AMR Action UK.

“We look forward to working with Marcus on the next stage of our development, in our aim to protect people from the burden of treatment resistant infections.”

Marcus Green, new Chief Executive Officer of AMR Action UK, said:

“From the moment I learned of AMR Action UK’s essential work I have been struck by the purpose and belief of the team of staff and Trustees.  They are committed to advocating for and supporting patients affected by treatment resistant infections, and I am excited to work with the incredible team to enhance the impact of the charity.”
