Fundraising
As an independent charity, with no government or NHS funding, AMR Action UK fundraises to support its work. Every donation counts.
Every year AMR contributes to over 35,000 deaths in the UK
AMR Action UK is the leading charity supporting patients and families living with the impact of AMR. We receive no government or NHS funding.
Your donation will help us to:
- Continue the work of our nurse-led helpline, supporting those impacted by drug resistant infections and their families
- Engage with patients about what matters most to them and ensure their voices are heard by decision-makers
- Campaign for the simple, urgent actions that can prevent harm and reduce unnecessary deaths from AMR
A donation of:
£25 could help us run our nurse-led helpline, giving trusted information to people who have been diagnosed with a resistant infection.
£50 could help us run groups and forums for people impacted by AMR to share their stories and help us improve treatment and care systems for others.
£100 could help us to influence politicians and NHS leaders to make changes to diagnosis and treatment.
Set up a monthly donation
Please consider setting up a regular gift, just a small amount each month makes such a difference to us. Regular donations by Direct Debit help keep our costs down, enabling us to plan more efficiently throughout the year and helping us to commit to longer term projects with greater impact.

Legacy
Leave a gift in your Will – leave a lasting legacy
Gifts in Wills are one of the most powerful ways to support our work, helping those impacted by AMR and preventing avoidable harm and deaths for future generations.
In the UK, AMR currently contributes to over 35,000 deaths a year and many more people experience life-altering consequences of infection. Without action, the number of resistant infections is set to grow to the point that dental care, childbirth and routine surgeries could become life-threatening events.
A gift in your Will can help us to support people, share their stories with the decision-makers, and advocate for the actions that can slow down the progression of resistant infections and preserve medicines for future generations.
Whether a fixed sum or a percentage share of your estate, you can be sure that your gift will make a huge difference to our work, helping us to scale-up our efforts to meet this growing threat.
Please consider including us in your Will.

Donate in memory
Remember someone special
Losing someone is never easy, so thank you for considering a gift in memory of your loved one. Your gift will help support those currently affected by AMR and protect others in the future. With your support we will continue providing information and advice as well as pressing for the changes that are needed in our healthcare systems to prevent avoidable harm.
Ways to remember and give:
- Set up a funeral collection so those attending a memorial service can give a meaningful gift in memory of the person you all loved.
- One-off or regular donations on a special date. Whether it’s an anniversary or a birthday, choosing a day to remember your loved one each year can be a comfort. Make a one-off gift in their memory or set up an annual direct debit to keep their legacy going.
- Set up a tribute fund, where friends and family can add memories of someone who is deeply missed. You can do this via sites like MuchLoved.com who make it easy to share stories with friends and family, organise events or celebrations to remember them and to fundraise in their memory.
- Take on a challenge or hold an event to share your loved one’s story and help raise awareness of AMR.
If you have lost your loved one to AMR and would like to share their story with us to be used in future campaigns for change, please contact Jeni Bryant, jennifer.bryant@amr-action-uk.org

Trusts and Foundations
AMR Action UK is fortunate in having enjoyed long-term relationships with a variety of Trusts and Foundations, both big and small, who understand the threat of AMR to families and communities, and the vital role our charity pays in addressing this challenge. We have worked with funding partners across the four nations of the UK.
Having been supported by large funders such as the National Lottery, Garfield Weston and Oak Foundation, we have in place all of the processes that funders would expect to successfully deliver programmes, as well as managing both grant and impact reporting.

Corporate Partnerships
We are determined to do all we can to support patients and make change happen, but with a small core team and no government funding, collaboration with passionate, creative, like-minded organisations is critical to our success. Our work to tackle antimicrobial resistance is made possible through the support of partners – support that is essential in helping us to deliver impactful programmes, advance research, and drive systemic change. We greatly value their interest in our work, their willingness to engage at a practical level, and their shared commitment to financial support for our work.
We are keen in the next stage of our growth to also reach out to more potential corporate partners with a large UK footprint. Our successful partners are likely to understand the CSR implications of AMR (some people describing it as “bigger than climate change”), and the impact that the growing threat of AMR will have on the future of their businesses, and on their employees. AMR Action UK is laser-focussed on changing the AMR landscape in the UK, preventing avoidable deaths and minimising long-term harm. We have a lean delivery model, including totally remote working with no unnecessary overheads. We can therefore provide an incredible return on investment for those who donate to our cause.
Our Partnerships Manager is Christopher Penny, christopher.penny@amr-action-uk.org, 07356 287396.
