Patient Support
Our patient support services are here for anyone impacted by chronic or resistant infections, including patients, families and people providing care and support.
Information and advice service
Through our helpline, and our e-mail service, we seek to understand individual needs and help people access the information, treatment options and emotional support they require.
Our nurse-led team does not have access to patient medical records and cannot provide a diagnosis or prescribe medication. There are may other ways however in which we can support a patient journey.
Here’s how our organisation can help:
- Explain medical information from a doctor or healthcare provider
- Connect individuals to trusted online resources, support groups, or specialist services
- Provide reliable information about the infection and its treatment
- Suggest questions for individuals to ask their healthcare professional
- Help individuals plan next steps for care, treatment, or support
- Offer emotional support and understanding
- Reduce feelings of isolation by helping individuals connect with others who have similar experiences
- Empower individuals by suggesting ways they might consider using their experience to help others
- Discuss caring for someone with an infection
Our team of empathetic nurses are here to listen to patient and carer concerns, talk about their worries and provide non-medical advice and trustworthy information.
